R.I.P. 2011....HAPPY B'DAY 2012

Time DOES flyyy by.... And I'm just realizing that as I write my FIRST 'N' LAST blog in 2011 at 6.47 pm...

2011...like I was telling a friend of mine the other day, for me, has been THE YEAR OF COMPROMISE.. along with quiet, yet active moments of "reconnecting with people who matter"... 2011 was also the SEASON FOR GETTING HITCHED (I wonder what's with all these marriage  calendar settings that make all the singles' part with their "dream dates":-) :-)).

Today's newspaper read: NEW YEAR, NEW RATES...I ask the decision makers...."NEW YEAR, SAME OLD FATE??". Politics is becoming a dreadful n shameless business in this country. LOKPAL is becoming a CORRUPTPAL.

The Human Touch is being overshadowed by the importance and the NEED to connect via "technology"... rather than meeting in person :(. Value Systems and Social Acceptance among elders, are finding hard to change with time..and the brunt of it is ultimately being borne by their next generation that is caught between the OLD n the New..

2012...THE YEAR THE WORLD WOULD DEFINITELY NOT END.... There's too much of dirt collected over the last few decades, for it to burn to ashes so qigly...

Time for me to sign off and point-and-shoot in the garden for a while.....the clock says 7.02 pm... and as the year comes to a close, I have only one wish.... I WANT TO MAKE EVERYDAY COUNT..

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY....AND A PROSPEROUS ONE 2UUUU.. :-)

FREEDOM IS A THOUGHT WAY ...

When my beliefs are right, my world is "the place to be in", and when my beliefs are wrong, my world "should never exist". My beliefs make all the difference. They are the single most liberating or limiting factor in my life.

The beliefs that I inherit from other people become the backpack of limitations that I carry through life. The easiest thing to find on planet earth is someone to tell me all of the things I cannot do. The world is full of experts who are ready to program their limitations into my mind. I will not allow the limiting beliefs of the Life Long Disoriented to hijack my dreams. Their limitations will not become mine.

I choose my beliefs carefully, and I don’t allow the limiting beliefs of others to dominate my mind. I will not capitulate my dreams and take up the second hand dreams of other people. The only way to be truly free is to get my beliefs right and to live by them. Freedom is only a thought away.

CWG 2010 - A Sham, Shame, or Fame on BRAND INDIA ???

The commonwealth games are exactly a week away and with the rain-god or the Yamuna river showing no signs of abating, the preparations that were already in shambles, are really going down to the wires. Honestly, I am more than a little confused about whether to support the games or not.

On one side, the rains have been so relentless that even those who are well intentioned and want to do a genuinely good job are frustrated. Also, none of us want to be embarrassed. But then, I tell myself that some of these clowns, which basically means the top guys in the organizing committee, civic administration and their political masters, have had 7 years to get things ready, and delayed things deliberately to create panic so that no question-asked-funds are released. So they deserve no mercy. And then again, the thought creeps up. Why should the nation be embarrassed for the folly of these individuals, especially when we know that those responsible for the mess are thick-skinned?

Mr Manmohan Singh and his "mentor" have promised that the guilty will ‘not be spared’ once the games are over. But which common citizen in India, really believes that bit? I can almost envision the games being projected as a grand success and in the ensuing euphoria, all would be forgotten, including the fact that what should have cost "n", has cost us 20 "n", and that the quality has been shockingly sub-standard, the excessive make up and magical illumination of games venues notwithstanding. Of course, those responsible would move on and perhaps even bid for the Olympics to build on the hugely successful commonwealth games.

OUTLAWS !!!!!!!

Being an Outlaw is a the State of a Person's Cognitive Process

U don't have 2 rob banks or mug old ladies to be one.

The man with the Outlaw mind operates most comfortably on the fringe of things.
That;s where the excitment is, out beyond the bounds of Polite Society, Risk excites him.
The conventional bores him.

MEN WITH AN OUTLAW MENTALITY ARE NOT JUST ROWDIER VERSIONS OF THE NORMAL FOLKS.
THEY'RE A WHOLE DIFFERENT TYPE OF HUMAN BEINGS. MEN WITH OUTLAW PERSONALITIES KNOW IT'S A JUNGLE OUT THERE...
AND THEY LIKE IT.

A Transitory Lyf ..

A transitory lyf is all we have.

So why do we boast, why do we disproportionately exaggerate our earthly, mortal and brittle achievements? The physical in us, no matter how strong, fails us when the Prince of Gloom appears.
When death appears,
the physical deserts us no matter how strong it is, t
he vital deserts us no matter how enthusiastic it is,
the mind deserts us no matter how brilliant it is,
the heart deserts us no matter how kind and pure it is.

A transitory lyf is all we have.

Why then do we listen to the dictates of the physical world, the temptation- world? Why? Why?
Why do we not listen to the dictates of the all-illumining and all-fulfilling soul? Why? Why? Why do we dine each night, all night long, with ignorance-sea?
Why do we sport with darkness-dragon every day, all day long? Why? Why?
Why do we not love God even conditionally, if it is impossible for us to love God unconditionally?
Why? Why?

Freedom Of Will !!!!

Hit the starter
the rumble of the power
final cursory checks, pressure is right
the engine warms
the clunk of the stand being folded
armor secure, helmet fastened
glide out of the driveway
heading on another journey
finally the freeway exit

Escape, freedom, anticipation a machine as my steed
steel, alloys, carbon and plastics,
power at your fingertips, superior build and design
an open road
a freedom of will
the senses coming alive

challenges, danger the feeling of flight
this is just right

A series of corners
a line, a path
twisties cutting through the heart
this is me, this is who I am
this is just right
I am smiling

Pushing through, looking ahead
my choice of line
is it just right?
with speed set, a quick turn in
eyeing the exit
all external thought forgotten
I am in the moment
roll of the throttle

The next corner and exit appears
I am positioned right
relax, focus, turn in with a flick
the lean angle more than slight
the exit changes to a new final point
the power is controllable, on the gas
the tire spins, turning quicker
the exit assaulted, I am in the zone

How do I explain this to my friends and family?
What aspect will they understand
do I try to explain it or is it just wasted?
near impossible to get this right
this is the road less traveled
only a few would understand
my fellow riders are the few
my souls of the heart

I ascend the mountains
grabbing a quick glance
a spectacular mountain scenery
that could be disastrous by bad chance
downward straights with more to see
the horizon is rising
focus is strong, still drawn to steal a glance
at speed a second is an eternity
300 feet a second

The twisties approach
redefined anticipation
I do it all again
I am in the zone
everything else is second

This is not a phase
this is a riders life blood
I do not fight this urge
I embrace it

Extremism - D current wave in Indian politics 2 get "Mileage" !!!

Over the past week or so, "Mumbai" has been the central point of debate in India for a very ubsurd reason - Should Mumbai belong only to Maharashtrians or any Indian?? Wellllll.....any "sane" indian doesnt need to waste time in debating this in the first place.

It astonishes me to see the way certain individuals / groups, out of d blue express an emotion which is totally "self-created n self-centred" but trigger it as a "mass-movement", which in reality has no room for existence. The most recent examples of such a situation have been:
  • Shiv Sena and MNS have taken a stand that Mumbai belongs to Marathi people only and people "born and brought up in the state" have first right over it.
  • Shiv Sena and MNS have again taken a stand that they will "not allow Australian and Pakistani cricketers to play in Mumbai".
The most amazing part is that these groups do a favor to the entire planet by giving them two choices:
  • join us in our agitation
or
  • we'll use our extreme n voilent means to make sure u join us!!!
Shiv Sena n MNS - Got some news 4 u!!!! "V live in a democracy n Each n every inch of India belongs to all Indians.." Any individual has d right to go n find his or her bread n butter, in any city / town / village in this country. In my opinion, there should be no quota system at all for jobs / education, and these must be provided on the basis of his / her merit n qualifications. And culture and language should be encouraged to be learnt by non-locals n not forced upon.
I gess the reasons such incidents crop up is coz these organizations feel left out in d "power-game" in the city / state n need some sort of platform to get that mileage.
Its time the central n state governments clip the wings of any individual / organization uttering such nonsense.
We have already had one partition!!!!! Can't afford to have any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!
